While in Asmara last year, I was told that one of Mr. Abraha's son is called Toldemedhin (in memory of Mr. Abraha's brother who passed away at a young age).
After I returned to the U.S., it was not hard to locate an African-American named Toldemedhin Elefe.
Once I found his number, I called Mr. Toldemedhin and introduced myself and explained to him the reason why I had been looking for him (In one of our conversations, Mr. Toldemedhin told me that his father, Mr. Abraha died in New York in mid 1970s.
Even though I had many long conversations with Mr. Toldemedhin, we never met until I went to New York, to present a paper at the UN panel discussion on "Global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration", in late July 2017.
On July 26, 2017, Mr. Toldemedhin and I met at my hotel. We had a nice chat and we walked to the Eritrean Permanent Mission to the UN. At the Mission, the staff welcomed Mr. Toldemedhin graciously and told him that he was at home and he should feel free to come back anytime.

In the meantime, I had been updating the young Eritrean lady, who had asked me to look into her family story, regularly. During the same period of time, she had contacted members of her extended Elefe family and organized a family union/re-union. Almost 100 Elefe family members of different generations came to Virginia, USA from Italy, and various cities in the US on the weekend of August 19th, 2017.
